Self-Healing Acute Back Pain Detail Testimony
By Dr. Linda W. Yueh, M. S., P. T., A. P. (Blood Type "A+")

I had Moderate to Severe Back Pain and Locking experience on Friday, 2-17-06. It continued over the weekend for 3 days and finally subsided 85% as today Monday, 2-20-06. On Friday I took Advil, 200 mg x 2 at 10 AM and again 2 Advil at 10 PM. I rested with a Thermophore moist heating pad all night long for 3 nights and using Self-Help Healing And Management. Finally I alleviated 85% of my back pain and discomfort.

I shouldn't go out to pick up pay checks and give patients' progress notes to my home health agencies because I can hardily walk. I quickly treated myself with strain/counter strain, gentle stretching and strengthening exercises, foot reflexology, manual therapy in bed for 15 min. without a heating pad because I have to go places. I continued giving myself strain/counter strain, acupressure, manual therapy to my left sacroiliac, pelvis, L4-5 vertebrae, in standing and sitting but only alleviated some pain. I used Pilate technique to immobilize my pelvis and trunk, together with my left hand to stabilize my left back and walk in slight/moderate trunk left side bending, extension with hip external rotation slowly in order to minimize any more back injury and micro damage. About 5:45 PM, it was raining and I reached toward my right car door pocket to pick up an umbrella, got up, locked the door and discovered that I locked my red purse and keys in the car. I went to my patient home and called Victor, my ex-husband to pick me up, pick up the spare key in the old house and come back to my patient's parking lot to open the door and then finally drove home.

At 10 PM, I am glad that I finally can lie down with Thermophore moist heating pad, take 2 Advil and sleep good on my semi-flexed Craftmatic bed. Saturday, 4 AM I wake up and start my "Dr. Feel Good" Miracle Healing And Management for 2 hours and loosen all my back knotted muscles and I am able to walk almost PAIN FREE.
When I was age 21, working in the VA General Hospital, Taipei, Taiwan as a Physical Therapist, I sprained/strained my left low back with severe/moderate Sciatic Neuropathy radiating down to my left ankle/heel/big toe for 1 year. I tried Ultrasound, Electric Stimulation, Pelvic Traction, Electro-Acupuncture... but all in vain. My MD boyfriend also lost patience with me because I cannot walk far. Finally, at home I lie down on the floor and perform the back stretching and strengthening exercises in supine, prone and side-lying for 1 hour, as I instruct my back pain patients. When I stand up I am cured ever since and continue my daily back exercise till now.

I think my 3 days moderate to severe back pain was started on Tues. 1-31-06, when I got 2nd degree motorcycle burn with a 2" X 1" big blister. 6 days later, I limped on my left leg with deep wound pain 3-5 min. whenever I am upright since Super Bowl Sunday 2-5-06. I want to research my "Wound Healing Without Scar And Discoloration" and take pictures of daily progress with my left leg up on high stool, in hip internal rotation and trunk left side bending. I wash my left leg wound daily in the sink, standing on my right leg with twisted back. Also, I sleep 2 nights in a row in my comfortable red recliner with beautiful water scenery.

Friday morning 2-17-06, when I got up from the recliner, I was limping for 3 min. as usual. Later I sat on the blue sofa, bent over and tried to lift the glass table to my left a little bit. Immediately I knew I shouldn't move because the sudden onset of my left back pain, spasm and I am stuck.

I remain in the same position for 5 min. slowly sit on the floor to perform my strain/counter strain for 3 min., take a very hot shower to stretch my back, take Advil of 200 mg X 2, perform quick gentle stretching/strengthening exercises on bed in supine and prone position for 15 min. until I can move my left leg easier and continue my Friday schedule.

I regret that I didn't cancel my trip and stay home because my back pain is getting worse. I slowly get in/out of my car, slowly ambulate with lopsided posture and moderate to severe low back pain.

What an experience of 1st hand back pain and I reconfirm my technique of How To Speedy Recovery Acute Back Injury.

Saturday, I have to make up my 5 patient visits due to back pain and wise enough to cancel my heavy patients' care yesterday.

Sunday, I have moderate to severe right low back pain, L4-5 paraspinal pain and right hip/pelvis pain due to over compensation. I repeat the above same treatment, stay home and feel 85% better when I wake up today, Monday, 2-20-06 at 6 AM. I have to be careful not to sit on my high stool and type this letter too long. I need to change position frequently and continue my manual therapy in standing, sitting and lying position as my back requires for proper care frequently. I believe I will be totally cured in 5-7 days.

I have been diagnosed with Severe Osteoporosis with -2.7 score of lumbar and left hip since 1998. Now I am taking Fosamax Plus D, 70 mg a week and 1500 mg Calcium and 800 I.U. Vitamin D daily as per my Orthopedist recommendation. I perform my daily 60 min. Self-Help and Rejuvenation Management in bed every morning. I never take any pain medication until this sudden attack of moderate to severe back pain, sprain and strain for 3 days of 8 pills of Advil, as I feel it is definitely a medical necessity.
